The first pic of little Moses is finally here:

Wednesday, 12 April 2006 - It's Guy's birthday today!

Monday, 10 April 2006 - Gwyneth and Chris parents again!!

ET Online has confirmed that Gwyneth Paltrow and hubby Chris Martin welcomed a little baby boy over the weekend. A name hasn't been revealed yet and none of the major news and entertainment websites have reported the breaking news so far (it's 1 pm at the moment) - so I'm one of the first to tell you

Big sister Apple turns 2 on May 14 - her brother's birthday is now officially April 9, 2006. We don't know any further details yet and, but we'll certainly get more information soon! Congratulations to the lovely couple, I hope the little family is fine and everyone's feeling well!!

UPDATE - Monday, 10 April

It has now been officially confirmed that Gwyneth gave birth to a boy in a hospital in New York City this weekend (note: Apple was born in London - so she's British and her brother is American).  Furthermore, she revealed the name we've all been waiting for:

MOSES BRUCE ANTHONY MARTIN

They used the same "system" they also used for Apple (Blythe Alison): Bruce is Gwyneth's dad's name, Anthony is Chris' dad's name!

The office of Paltrow's publicist, Stephen Huvane, told the press today: "It's a healthy baby boy named Moses Martin. No other details are being provided."

A very biblical name - again! Because Gwyneth once said that the name Apple has a religious background as well: ""It conjured such a lovely picture for me – you know, apples are so sweet and they're wholesome and it's biblical – and I just thought it sounded so lovely and ... clean."

In addition, all of you Coldplay fans out there probably know the beautiful song "Moses" that Chris wrote for Gwyneth in 2003 - it has only been played live so far and can only be found on the Live 2003 DVD.

Chris, Apple and now Moses all celebrate birthday at around the same time: Chris in March, Moses in April and Apple in May! Only mummy Gwyneth is born in September.

However, welcome to the world, Moses Martin  It will take years until you realize what a lucky boy you are - being the son of two such talented, wonderful persons and the brother of such an adorable, little girl!

To post your congratulations for the happy little family, click here.

As soon as baby photos are released, you'll find them here!

UPDATE 2 - Monday, 10 April

It has now been reported that Gwyneth Paltrow didn't give birth "the natural way" - she had a C-section planned for this weekend! The past few months, there were rumours saying that Gwyneth was planning a water birth, but now more details have been spread around the web, saying that the birth date was all planned! The only thing that doesn't fit with this information is the fact that Moses was born at 1 am in the night from Saturday to Sunday - if it would have been planned, they wouldn't do it in the middle of the night, would they?!

Source: PerezHilton

UPDATE 3 - Tuesday, April 11

Earlier today, Chris Martin was seen walking into Mount Sinai Hospital, striding briskly past a group of photographers without making a comment.

In addition, some more details have been revealed:

Gwyneth's spokeswoman neither confirmed nor denied whether the actress had a C-section or not, but she told the press that little Moses is healthy and: "Mum and baby are both doing well. I'm sure they are ecstatic."

The choice of the name wasn't that surprising - Moses was a Jewish prophet and Gwyneth's beloved father Bruce Paltrow, who passed away a few years ago, was a famous Jewish American himself. He in turn was a direct descendant of David HaLevi Segal, the 17th century patriarch from Krakow, part of the mighty Paltrowich dynasty which gave the world a further 33 rabbis.

There have always been rumours saying that Gwyn would like to name her first son after her father, but Jewish culture doesn't allow naming kids after dead persons.

As I already mentioned yesterday, the name could have another meaning for the couple: "Moses" was the title of a song Chris wrote for his wife shortly before their wedding in California in 2003. The track can only be found on the Live 2003 album, recorded in Sydney. Chris told fans that it was the song he most enjoyed performing. The lyrics include the powerful words "Like Moses has power over sea so you've got power over me... You're a refuge, somewhere I can go. You're air that, air that I can breathe, 'cause you're my golden opportunity."

UPDATE 4 - Tuesday, April 11

Gwyneth's friend, model Helena Christensen, reportedly visited the happy couple and the addition to their family only two days after Gwynnie gave birth to Moses.

When asked by reporters who she was visiting as she left the hospital, Christensen said "Who do you think?" before laughing and adding: "The baby is gorgeous!". The model said she bought the new mother a gift: "I got her a silver gold necklace with three hearts."

UPDATE 5 - Sunday, April 16

The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where Gwyneth gave birth last weekend

More details have been revealed! The Celebrity Baby Blog reports that Moses was 8lbs, 4 oz at birth and was supposedly born at 1 pm on Sunday, 9 April.

Furthermore, sources say that Gwyneth is already back home with baby Moses. The little boy is now already one week old, congratulations that everything went that well

UPDATE 6: THE FIRST PIC OF LITTLE MOSES!!!

Wednesday, 29 March 2006 - Will to become a daddy

Exciting rumours for all Coldplay fans: It seems like Chris isn't the only band member whose wife is expecting a baby soon. Here's what a member of a Gwyneth Paltrow message board wrote:

I went for dinner on Friday night at a great little place in NY’s Lower East Side (Falai - wonderful italian) and spotted Coldplay drummer Will Champion and his pregnant wife whose name I don’t know, along with another friend. The wife was quite lovely and only looked pregnant because of her belly. She was waify and teeny tiny otherwise. How these women do it I don’t know! it’s not like she wasn’t having dessert! (As an aside, we arrived just as they were getting their dessert and I actually ended up ordering this great passion fruit souffle that Will had ordered because it looked so delicious).

Will and Marianne in Italy

UPDATE:

The news have been confirmed by Debs Wild, a good friend of the band and the webmaster of their official site:

Marianne's tiny, her belly isn't Wink
It hasn't been reported because their profile is low, but yes it's true. It's due soon.

Now little Apple and Chris' soon-to-come baby No. 2 will have a little Coldplay friend to play with soon! And maybe they'll even found their own band one day, just like their daddys

Saturday, 25 March 2006 - News Roundup

I haven't been around for quite a while, so here are all important news of the past days:

"The Hardest Part" Video

On Wednesday, the new Coldplay video premiered on Channel 4. You can watch it exclusively on the official Coldplay website and it will certainly be on the MTV list soon!

The music video was shot on March 3 in Tampa, Florida, at a yacht marina. It was directed by Mary Wigmore, a good friend of Chris Martin and his wife.

The video "shocked" a lot of fans - it's very different to what the guys have done in the past. It shows the band members at a harbour, performing on stage while a dancing couple does a performance right next to them. The weird thing: The male dancer is 25 and the female dancer is 84!! The dancing part is actually from an 80s TV show called "Attitudes" - so the video parts of Coldplay's performance and the 80s talk show are put together and combined to a music video! You'll either love or hate this video

You can check out video screenshots here.

Upcoming Live DVD

Just like promised, Coldplay will release a Live DVD of their "Twisted Logic Tour". The footage was filmed at their two gigs in Toronto on Thursday and Friday. As soon as I know a release date, you'll find out here!

Chris Martin named "Sexiest Vegeterian alive" AGAIN!

Just like past year, Chris Martin won the poll taken by visitors of PETA's website GoVeg.com! The female winner was American Idol winner Carrie Underwood. Chris Martin has been a vegeterian for years, just like his wife Gwyneth Paltrow. That's why they're raising their child Apple with healthy, vegeterian food as well.

Sunday, 12 March 2006 - Coldplay win Echo Award

Tonight, the 15th "Echo", the most important German music award, took place in Berlin and was shown nationwide on the German TV channel "RTL". Our lovely band Coldplay won the award for "Best International Group" - the award show isn't as serious as it used to be, unfortunately, due to crappy commercial bands like "Tokio Hotel", but well, congratulations to Coldplay anyway! This award isn't voted by fans, it depends on the commercial success, so this shows that Coldplay was the most successful international band in Germany the past year

Wednesday, 8 March 2006 - Coldplay headline Isle of Wight Festival

This year's only UK appearance of Coldplay will be at the famous Isle of Wight Festival at Seaclose Park, Newport, on June 11. They'll headline the last day of the three-day-lasting festival, while Foo Fighters are confirmed as headliners for June 10.

Other performers are Placebo, Prodigy, Editors, Maximo Park and The Kooks. In addition, three (!!) of Coldplay's support acts of the Twisted Logic Tour will appear as well: Goldfrapp, Morning Runner (both on Friday, 9 June) and Richard Ashcroft (Sunday, 11 June).

Anyone who has the chance to visit the festival should definitely do so! I'm really jealous and sad that I live so far away, otherwise I'd definitely go there! To purchase tickets, visit the official website.

Thursday, 2 March 2006 - Happy Birthday, Chris!

Our lovely Chris Martin is turning 29 today - it's not the big "three zero" yet, but it's definitely a bit closer  Well, two kids (remember: one more to come this April!) and a beautiful wife before your 30th birthday, that's not bad, is it?

The band will play a gig in Washington tonight - so let's hope that the Washington crowd will sing happy birthday! Meanwhile, his wife Gwyneth is relaxing in Mexico with cute little Apple:

Tuesday, 21 February 2006 - Loooove at the Brits

Last Thursday, ITV1 aired the Brit Awards. Besides the brilliant performance of our beloved band and the fact that they won two awards, there was something else to be interested in:

All the guys, except of Chris, were accompanied by their beautiful wives - and as soon as it was announced that Coldplay won an award, Will and Guy turned around to kiss their beautiful wives - and what did Jonny and Chris do? Well, share their love with each other, not with their wives - as usual

Left: Will and his wife Marianne; Middle: Guy and his wife Joanna; left next to them: Chris taking a nip out of a beer bottle; Front right: Jonny's girlfriend Chloe applauding, Jonny getting up

On the way to the stage, there's a bit more Chris & Jonny action:

As soon as they got up on stage, Chris obviously wanted to show the world that he's not this "Nice Guy" everyone's talking about:

Tuesday, 21 February 2006 - Coldplay nominated for Juno Awards

I recently told you that Coldplay will perform at this year's Juno Awards, the most important music awards of Canada, held on April 2 in Halifax at the Metro Center. The nomination list was announced last Wednesday. Coldplay are nominated in the category "Best International Album" - for the full nominee list, including Canadian rock band Nickelback leading with 6 nominations, click here.

The band has just announced four tour dates in Japan this year:

  • July 15, Intex Osaka, Osaka
  • July 17, Rainbow Hall, Nagoya
  • July 18 & July 19, Budokan, Tokyo

Tuesday, 21 February 2006 - Confusing Split rumours

Chris Martin shocked all the fans when he announced at last week's Brit Awards, that we won't see them "for many, many years". He said "people are fed up with us. And so are we". Immediately, tabloids all over the world said Coldplay would split - which is, of course, not true! EMI told the press that the band will finish its 2006 tour, taking a little break afterwards and will then head off to work on the new album. According to the latest interview of Chris Martin, the next album is even supposed to be released "within the next 12 months".

How did the lads react on the split rumours - with humour, of course:

In addition to a "new album within the next 12 months", Chris' voice can be heard on Nelly Furtado's new album. As I reported a few months ago, he features on one of the songs produced by Timbaland.

Wednesday, 15 February 2006 - Coldplay win 2 Brit Awards

MTV UK News just announced the winners of this year's Brit Awards. Nominated in 4 categories, Coldplay were able to get at least two of the famous Brit Awards tonight: Best British Album (X&Y) and Best British Song (Speed of Sound).

The big winners were Kaiser Chiefs, winning three awards for Best Rock Act, Best Group and Best Live Act.

Coldplay performed "Square One" live on stage - you can see the whole award ceremony tomorrow on ITV from 8 pm.

Thursday, 9 February 2006 - Coldplay big losers at the Grammys

Coldplay at the
Grammys Rehearsal

The band was nominated in three categories but unfortunately didn't bring home any awards. In all of the three categories, they were "dismantled" by U2 who were the big winners of tonight, winning 5 awards! For the full list of winners, click here.

Coldplay performed "Talk" live at the cerenomy at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. If you weren't able to see it, you can download it from the coldplaying.com message board.

Thursday, 26 January 2006 - News Roundup

A baby boy for Chris and Gwyneth!

It has been claimed that Chris Martin and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow are expecting a boy. Tabloids have already written a few weeks ago that Chris would plan to call the boy "Capone", but this is (hopefully) nonsense! The American actress once said that she'd like to name her first son after her beloved father Bruce Paltrow, who died in 2003.

Gwyneth's mum, actress Blythe Danner, says she is over the moon at becoming a granny again. She told American magazine InTouch: "I don't know how much more excited I could be." And she said her daughter was a great mum. She added: "Gwyneth is very serene with the baby. I observe her and she is extraordinary."

Sources close to the star say the couple's second child will be a brother for the pair's 20-month-old daughter Apple. A friend said: "It's definitely a boy."

So, finally a Chris jr.

Coldplay to perform at this year's Grammy Awards

It has just been announced that Coldplay will perform at this year's Grammy Awards on February 8 at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. Other performers are Bruce Springsteen, Kanye West, Maroon 5, a special collaboration between U2 and Mary J. Blige and many more.

Coldplay nominated for Worst Band at NME Awards

Coldplay fans have obviously been dumped by the voters for the 2006 NME Awards. The band is nominated in the category "Worst Band", along with The Darkness, McFly and others. Furthermore, Chris Martin is nominated in the category "Worst dressed" - please visit the website to make sure that these horrible awards won't be given to our band.

Coldplay to perform at 35th Annual Juno Awards

The Juno Awards are Canada's most important music awards, taking place on April 2 in Halifax at the Metro Centre this year. The nomination list will be announced on February 15. No matter if Coldplay are nominated or not (I guess they will ), they'll perform live at the award ceremony!

Monday, 23 January 2006 - "The Hardest Part" next single!

Yesterday, the host of the Radio 1 Chart Show announced that the next Coldplay single will be "The Hardest Part". The 4th single out of "X&Y" will be released on April 3.

Monday, 23 January 2006 - Coldplay losers at NRJ Awards

As reported a few weeks ago, Coldplay were nominated for "Best International Group" and "Best International Album" at the French NRJ Awards. Unfortunately, both awards were won by the American hip hop band Black Eyed Peas.

At the show, Chris Martin presented the Humanitarian Award to Sir Bob Geldof.

Tuesday, 17 January 2006 - Gwyneth at the Golden Globes

Last night, the 63rd annual Golden Globes were presented in Los Angeles. Chris' wife Gwyneth Paltrow was nominated in the category Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama for her movie "Proof". In addition, she presented the lifetime achievement award to Sir Anthony Hopkins, her co-actor in "Proof". Unfortunately Gwyneth didn't win an award, but she was definitely the most beautiful woman in the room - showing a big smile throughout the show and her little belly proving that Chris jr. is coming soon

Saturday, 14 January 2006 - ODE TO DEDORANT uploaded

It took some time, but now the time has finally arrived. From now on, Friday the 13th will be a special day in CP fans' history! Because yesterday, the extremely rare track ODE TO DEODORANT, which was Coldplay's first recording ever, was uploaded by "Corricopatcat", a user from coldplaying.com!

Click here to download ODE TO DEDORANT and the second A-side, an early version of BROTHERS AND SISTERS. Enjoy!

Saturday, 14 January 2006 - The mistery behind the name 'Apple'

After Gwyneth and Chris decided to call their little baby daughter 'Apple' people all over the world were wondering what they were thinking. Here's the answer of Gwyneth Paltrow: "It conjured such a lovely picture for me - you know, apples are so sweet and they're wholesome and it's biblical - and I just thought it sounded so lovely and ... clean. And I just thought: 'Perfect!'" Furthermore, Gwyneth told us that it was her hubby, our lovely Chris Martin, who came up with the idea of the name soon after she discovered she was pregnant!

Saturday, 14 January 2006 - Award nominations

It has just been announced that Coldplay are nominated for 4 Brit Awards - now they're also nominated for the French "NRJ Music Awards 2006", in the categories Best International Band (along with U2, Depeche Mode, Green Day and Black Eyed Peas) and Best International Album (along with Mariah Carey, Black Eyed Peas, Moby and Robbie Williams). They'll also perform at the award show on January 21.

Moreover, the band is nominated for the German music award "Echo" in the category Group of the year - international (along with Bon Jovi, Depeche Mode, Rolling Stones, Black Eyed Peas).

Friday, 13 January 2006 - Gwyneth confirms pregnancy

I know, I know, we've been talking about Chris and Gwyn's second baby for months now, but now the woman who simply HAS TO KNOW IT, finally broke her silence. Gwyneth Paltrow, the beautiful American actress who's married with Chris Martin since December 2003 and who already gave birth to a wonderful daughter in May 2004, confirmed her pregnancy. After the special screening of her latest movie "Proof" (which, by the way, has inspired her hubby Chris to the b-side of 'Speed of Sound'), a reporter, calling her a pregnant woman, asked her: "How far along are you?" and she replied happily: "Far enough along to feel very cumbersome."

There were recently already rumours that she told her friend and colleague Orlando Bloom how much she loves her big boobs during her pregnancy, but she's never confirmed her pregnancy officially in public. As it's finally confirmed by the mother herself now, I promise there'll be no more baby news until the little brother or sisters for Apple arrives

Wednesday, 11 January 2006 - Coldplay nominated for 4 Brits

As you probably already know, Coldplay will perform at the Brit Awards 2006 on February 15 which will take place at Earls Court, London. They are nominated in the following categories:

  • Best British Group
  • Best British Album
  • Best British Single (Speed of Sound)
  • Best Live Act

Tuesday, 10 January 2006 - MEANINGFUL MOMENT IN FANS' HISTORY

This year is starting VERY, VERY good

All of you hardcore Coldplay fans out there probably know what I'm talking about when I mention "Ode to Deodorant" - it's the first song they ever played as an ensemble in 1998. They always said they don't want anyone to hear it, because it's actually "shit". But fans, of course, were always hoping for getting it one day. It was released as a double A-side demo cassette tape for local concert promoters.

As there are also a few rare limited copies, it hasn't appeared anywhere on the web yet, but yesterday, a user from the coldplaying.com message board called Corricopatcat told us that she actually owns this tape and will upload the two rare songs tomorrow! Everyone's excited and in shock to finally get this rare, special song! To get it as soon as it's uploaded, check out the Multimedia section at the coldplaying.com forum!

For all the ones who can't wait, here's what Corricopatcat wrote about the song:

It has a 4/4 time and lotsa "wah-wah" guitar after a melodic chiming entry. Then goes into some more of a rock beat. This is all very raw, with Chris' vocals in the background too much.

The melody line, as played on my tape and from my memory, was

c# d c#...c# d c# b a g f#...repeat then transition to something else.

Very minor chords, but a good tune.

All we could glean from the lyrics is as follows:

"It's medicine (or my thing)...

"It gets me through the day...

"It's the confidence I need.
It's medicine for the nose, yeah, medicine for it.

"(something something) aerosol...

"Would I ever let you go? No way."

All the classic Chris vocal ingenuity is there (octave jumps, etc.).

This tape also has the demo of "Bigger Stronger", slowere, veryy raw, lotsa wah-wah- guitar, too.

Tuesday, 27 December 2005 - South America tour in Autumn 2006

It seems like there's new hope for more tour dates in 2006. On the Radio 2 show of Ken Bruce today, Chris told us that there'll be more tour dates in South America in autumn 2006! As soon as I know more details and exact dates, you'll find out here!

To listen to the show again, including the special live set of three songs, click here.

Tuesday, 27 December 2005 - Jonny did NOT get married

Good news for Jonny-OBSESSED fans and bad news for true Jonny fans  Those who were always hoping to get the only Coldplay guy who isn't married can still hope: The rumour that Jonny Buckland got married this year is NOT true! The rumour was started by Chris Martin himself who mentioned Jonny's WIFE on a radio interview. According to the band's friend Debs Wild, "it didn't happen."

Anyway, I hope everything's fine with Jonny and his beautiful girlfriend and look forward to a possible wedding of them both in the future  You can listen to Chris' statement on Radio 1 again here. You can also watch the exclusive video of their performance at Jo Whiley's Live Lounge here.

Friday, 23 December 2005 - Is Jonny married?

On yesterday's Live Lounge on Radio 1, Chris mentioned Jonny's WIFE - and fans were immediately asking each other if it's true: Did Jonny get married recently??

Until now, we've only known that Will was the one who married first (Marianne and him married a few years ago), followed by Chris (who married actress Gwyneth Paltrow in 2003) and Guy (who married the beautiful designer Joanna in 2004). It was only known that Jonny has a longtime girlfriend, but there weren't any details about an engagement or a marriage at all.

So what's the matter now? As soon as we know more, you'll find out here! For everyone who hasn't seen Jonny's "wife" before, here's a picture of him and Chloe:

Friday, 23 December 2005 - Coldplay win two Bizarre Awards

The British newspaper "The Sun" has a certain section concerning music, celebrities, etc., called "Bizarre". And this particular section has asked readers to vote for the best artists, bands, singers, films, series and celebrities of 2005. And, not surprisingly, Coldplay won TWO awards for Best band and Best Album.

Chris was obviously very honored: "It means so much to us to get these awards because they really count. It means a lot when you know it is voted for by The Sun’s millions of readers. Thank you to everyone who voted for us.”

Other winners in the musical categories were James Blunt (Best Single for 'You're beautiful'), Will Young (best singer), Oasis (Best Rock) and Madonna (Best female).

Tuesday, 20 December 2005 - Chris Martin in car crash

Coldplay frontman CHRIS MARTIN avoided serious injury when his BMW X5 hit another car in London yesterday. He had a minor shunt on a busy road near Belsize Park, but fortunately nobody was hurt. Martin's actress wife Gwyneth Paltrow is also thought to have been in the vehicle as well.

The following picture shows that he wasn't too keen to talk about details in the street, so he stayed put in the driver's seat and the other motorist talked to him through the window.

Friday, 2 December 2005 - Gwyneth Paltrow's pregnancy FINALLY confirmed

Some might be bored about all the rumours about Gwyneth and Chris expecting their second baby. But now the rumours are over, because Gwyneth's mother Blythe Danner confirmed that Apple will get a little brother or sister next Spring. ETonline interviewed the happy grandmother and also asked her if she'd help the couple finding a baby name this time. Danner replied: "I love the name Apple, I think it's perfect. I hope there'll be more fruits and vegetables coming along since we're all pretty much vegetarians. They're all on their own. They're just sailing along beautifully."

Gwyneth has always denied the rumours or kept silence, while Chris was seen extremely happy the past few weeks. According to some sources, he even confirmed the pregnancy on Spanish TV a few days ago.

Congratulations to the lovely couple
